Signed 1960s Asta Stromberg and Rune Strand Strombergshyttan cut and engraved 3kg bowl

This is the finest piece of Stromberg glass we've ever owned, an exceptional piece, with complex and non-traditional panels of engraving on the four rounded corners, and a thick angle-cut rim which is an inch thick at the top. The engraving is divided into geometric sections. Within each section the glass is rough and unpolished, chipped out as if by a sculptor with a chisel. The piece is signed A. Stromberg/R. Strand/A.S. Asta Stromberg was the wife of Eric Stromberg, who bought the business from his father's estate. Eric himself died in 1960 and Asta ran the business until it was sold in 1976 following a serious fire in the factory. I would have expected that "A.S." indicated the engraver who would therefore have been Asta Stromberg herself. Rune Strand designed for Stromberg in the 1960s before moving on to Sea Glasbruk. The fact that both Asta and Rune have their names on the piece means that it must have been a collaboration.

Condition: a couple of handfuls of small scratches in the inside of the bowl, longest about 1cm. Very faint watermarks in the very bottom of the bowl. (Only seen when held up to the light to look for them.) A 0.5cm mark in the inside at the top, similar to a scratch but done in manufacture. A 2mm white mark inside the glass on one side.
