Tall 1960s Bo Borgstrom vase for Aseda with clear lobes and relief effect
Bo Borgstrom was Aseda's main designer from 1960 onwards. This piece was a popular design which we've had before in other colours and sizes, but never before with the corrugations near the base, which add some extra interest. Aseda glass was, as far as I know, never signed, but only stickered. A smaller (10 inch) version of this vase, minus the corrugations, is shown in Pina and Vigier's Scandinavian Glass 1930 - 2000: Fire & Sea. They value it at US$75-$100 making ours a bargain. They also show a Borgstrom decanter like one on our site - http://www.modernistglass.com/glasspieces/view/1766 - and another with the unusual corrugations.
