1940s Flower and leaf vintage MURANO art glass 3-piece smoking set

We are pretty excited about this set. If you've read some of our listings, you'll know we love sets. Lighter sets are only going to become rarer.

It's a fantastic 3-piece set - 2 leaf-shaped ashtrays and a lighter. The glass is covered with a thin layer of gold aventurine (metallic inclusions). Light shining through the ribbing on the upper surface makes the glass almost seem to glow. The photos are unlikely to show this to best effect. Alfredo Barbini was known for making leaf shaped bowls. However, the leaf-shaped lighter makes us think this set is more likely to be by another major Murano firm, Barovier & Toso.

Remains of a paperbacked label (unfortunately so little it's not possible to make out either letters, colour or shape :(

Condition: Excellent. The metal lighter could benefit from a clean and has got some wear to it, some manufacturing marks underneath the side of one foot. Not currently working but probably only needs a new flint.
