Signed 1960s Boda sculptural underlay bowl
This has been languishing at the back of our website for no good reason except that the photos were poor, so here it is with some better ones. It's a 1950s or 1960s midnight-blue bowl by Swedish glassmaker, Boda, probably designed by Ernest Gordon who was there from 1953 to 1963. Pina and Vigier's Scandinavian Glass, Fire and Sea shows comparable small cased sculptural bowls (p132), one numbered 2007 (ours is 2395) and one signed Gordon. This piece is somewhat similar to some of the Flygsfors Coquille designs.
Boda become part of the Afors group and eventually they merged the names Kosta and Boda.
For other Boda or Kosta Boda pieces see:

We don't have any other Gordon pieces on the site, but I will soon be listing a feathered vase, similar to the feathered technique used in FM Konstglass animals (Ronneby). See http://www.modernistglass.com/glasspieces/view/1962 for an example.
