1950s Murano art glass double-based clam shell bowl attributed to Fratelli Toso
You can lean it forwards on one flat polished base (first picture), or sit this upright on the other base (second pic). Clever design! We've previously owned this design with an "SDV" sticker . This may stand for Seguso Dalla Venezia, one of the mid-century Murano firms but there is no evidence of that, and I suspect SDV may have been a distributor. I've also seen this style of bowl with the blue and silver label used by Fratelli Toso, and I believe this firm was the maker of this piece. This current example has the remains of a generic Murano sticker - Made in MU...

Condition: very light wear aside from a 1mm fleabite and three pinprick nibbles to the standing base, a scratch and a nibble to the other base, a few less than 1mm unintended bubbles, a few scratches elsewhere (longest 3mm)
