Interesting art glass bowl
What might look like the tiniest bubbles in the pictures, are actually particles of silver or some other silvery metal. How would they have made it in a wavey pattern like this? They have sprinkled the silver onto the surface of the glass in that pattern, then cased it with more glass (see the last photo where the sprinkling overlaps at the point where they started and finished). What you can't see in the photos is that they've done this twice - there are two layers of particles. Clearly they were making an effort to get it right.
This is a mystery piece in terms of its maker and designer. It's engraved GN 39 SH on the base. We have seen a Gunnar Nylund design for Strombergshyttan signed GN SH. It's possible that ours is also a Stromberg piece, but if so, it should have a letter indicating the type of piece (eg. U for fingerbowl or H for ashtray). The glass also lacks the slightly blue tint that is typical of clear Stromberg crystal. So it's still a mystery. We'll leave it listed so that someone who knows more about it than we do can either advise us on what it is.
