Per Lutken Holmegaard ashtray - 1950s design
I've just put a Lindstrand Kosta bowl that's very similar in design to this one on the website. Here's the Lutken Holmegaard version. With a piece like this, lots of wear on the base does detract. This one's in very nice condition. This thick-rimmed glass was blown using the power of steam - a wet wooden pin was inserted into the hot "gather" of glass. The steam from the pin blew a bubble of air. It was this technique, developed by Lutken and his glass blowers, that was responsible for the unique look of much of the Holmegaard work of this time. So the Holmegaard version is probably the original, (but the Kosta piece is more rare).
