1950s Archimede Seguso labelled MURANO bullicante art glass lamp base with vintage shade
This has the documented Archimede Seguso label used on export items in the middle of last century (see Heiremans, Murano Glass: Themes and Variations.) When the light is off, you see the purple sommerso (the purple layer of glass "submerged" in the clear casing. When the light is turned on, you see the gold. In addition, it has a fine controlled bubble pattern (bullicante). This is a superior lamp. It's all beautifully done - the sommerso, the bubbles, the clear ribs, and the gold layer.
Note that it's photographed with the original shade, but the shipping price assumes you won't want this shade shipped to you. If you do want it, the price of the item is unchanged but obviously we'll need a bigger box to ship it in.
Lamp and shade height: 25 cm (10 inches)
Glass height: 11 cm
Weight: (including cord and shade) 1.5kg, (glass alone) approximately 1.2kg
Condition: Expected wear to the base. A 4mm chip by the hole where the cord exits the base, that was almost certainly done at manufacture. The synthetic lining of the shade is not original. The lamp is wired and the plug is of a type to fit Australian and New Zealand power points. We recommend that buyers in other countries will have this changed, though adapters to fit your power sockets will no doubt be available.
