Vintage Archimede Seguso Murano 2kg gold sommerso Mexican figurine

Since I listed this, Leslie Pina's book on Archimede Seguso has come out.  It shows a number of Mexican caricature figurines (p166-168), both in sommerso and in Seguso's distinctive alabastro glass, all with the exact same characteristic pose, same nose, same droopy moustache, and of course the same hat.  So I am now prepared to say that ours is also definitely by Archimede Seguso.  Leslie values hers are between US$350 and $500.  Our gold sommerso version is the most beautiful but I'll leave our price, US$200, unchanged.

Ours is a slightly hunched Mexican figure with a big droopy moustache. The gold layer is quite deep within the glass, so it has a clear core, then the gold, then more clear glass. The face is more detailed than the signed Cenedese Mexican figure we have elsewhere on our website [since sold]. I'll include a pic of the two together. Enjoy!
