2-colour Murano art glass ashtray
Probably a Barbini piece, we believe. The colours are amber and blue, which of course combine to look green in some places. This one is a little different and special (which is why we bought it). The underside is shaped into a pattern of raised hemispheres. Glass loves this sort of shape - it causes the light to refract as it passes through it. A good (but much more expensive) example of this concept is the Seguso Vetri d'Arte Lenti-style vase
