Amethyst bullicante Murano ashtray

Two of the things that you can do to glass to make it look beautiful are put in bubbles and put in curves.  This piece has these effects and you can see the result.  As the light goes through the bulges and bubbles, it reflects and refracts.  The quilted pattern on the outside of this mid-century Murano piece is one that we've owned once before, but it's not very common.  It's a lovely example of the craftsmanship of the period.

Condition: wear to the base, a 1.5mm fleabite to the edge of the outer rim (the dark colour makes it hard to see), some tiny unintended bubbles (see pics), a few light scratches inside
