Signed Armando Jacobino stylised duck figurine for Kumela of Finland
This is a another Kumela (based in the town of Riihimaki in Finland) stylized animal designed by Italian master glassblower and designer, Armando Jacobino. See also http://www.modernistglass.com/glasspieces/view/2033 which has slight damage and is therefore cheaper.
Jacobino was Kumela's most important designer. He worked there from 1959 to 1970. Pina & Vigier (Scandinavian Glass 1930-2000 Smoke & Ice) value these at US$150-200 (p125). Prices have shot up in the last year, and certainly since their book was published in 2002. We're not trying to be a bargain basement but when we get a good buy we try to pass it on.
