Signed 1960s Vicke Lindstrand Kosta 'carved' bowl

This is a very cool piece in every sense - first it's very stylish and it second looks like it was chipped from ice.  Think for a moment about the time and skill required to make this without breaking the glass.  Lindstrand was fortunate in that he found wonderful craftsmen when he arrived at Kosta in 1950, and clever, in that he created designs that put those skills to use.  He felt an obligation to keep the members of the Kosta "family" usefully employed, and his inspired designs in that period were the key to Kosta's success over this period and arguably the reason Kosta Boda is still such a force in art glass today.
