1959 Kaj Franck for Nuutajarvi Notsjo dark purple sommerso vase

This simple, streamlined design is KF260 by Kaj Franck, one of the superstars of 20th century design (in glass, ceramics, textiles, furniture, etc, etc). He was a Lunning Prize winner, and recipient of a variety of medals and prizes at Milan Triennales over the years.  His designs were functional, beautiful, and generally affordable.

This was designed in 1959.  This particular example was made the next year, as indicated by the signature.
