Signed Sigurd Persson 1980s Kosta bowl

Everyone gets very excited about 1950s glass, including us, but take a look at what Kosta Boda were doing in the 80s, and look at the price. It's a stunning piece, and the price reflects the fact that we were able to pick up a 25-year-old piece like this by a designer less well known to many glass buyers at a bargain price.  There is an immense amount of work and skill in cutting the top of this piece.  The quality of both design and manufacture is there, so this is the sort of piece that we think is bound to appreciate. 

Persson worked at Kosta 1968-1982. This numbering is probably early 80s.  He also did industrial design, silver and gold jewellery, and sculpture.   He was awarded the "Honorary Designer for Industry" (HonRDI) by the Royal Society of Arts, London in 1987, is represented in museums (Museum of Modern Art New York, Victoria & Albert Museum London, etc) all over the world.

Condition: light wear to the base, a couple of scuffs to the outside (not very noticable on display, because of the shape of the rim), three less than 0.5mm black spots from manufacture and , a couple of scratches (longest 2.7 cm) to the interior
