Czech Jizerske Sklo art glass triangular vase in transparent and matte glass
This piece is unmarked but it's a very distinctive and ingenious design - a clear bud vase set in a unique winged triangular shape of matte glass. The particular feature, to my mind, is that the abstract swirl pattern in the matte glass is shown through the clear glass of the bud vase, while the same pattern is also seen through the matte glass which surrounds the bud vase portion.
The matte finish will be the result of fluoroc acid. The last picture shows similar pieces in plain green from the back. These are shown in Diane Foulds' 1993 book, A Guide to Czech & Slovak Glass. Jizerske Sklo was founded in was seized by the Czech government in 1946 and became part of the massive Jablonek Glassworks Corporation. Jizerske Sklo returned to private ownership in 1990. Its primary niche is the manual production of glass canes for beads and other fine work. Our third photo shows our piece from the back.
Unfortunately Foulds' book doesn't say when the pieces in the photo were designed, or who designed it. The wear scratches on the base of our piece (see the picture of the base) suggest that some decades of being moved around on a piece of furniture so we would assume that it's, at latest, a 1980s or 1990s piece.
