BUYER FEEDBACK:  "my fellow glass aficionados,
just wanted to drop you a line in between client sessions to let you know that the shipment arrived today. the atlantis vase is so much more striking than it appears in the photographs, and the persson bowl just takes me back to the 80's - what a bizarre decade that was! [for those of you old enough to remember] arrived at the perfect time, as I will be in most of the weekend and enjoy admiring the glass..."

This shows Lindstrand's skill in using the many talents on hand at the Kosta factory, and his ability to create layered 'stories' in a vase.  Here, the school of fish swims around the vase.  The net, created with threads of amethyst, is on one side.

In the 1950s, the acceptance of modernist design was moving glassmaking away from cut and engraved glass.  However, Lindstrand created marketable designs for all his workers - glassblowers, engravers and cutters.  When he started at Kosta in 1950 he took on responsibility for a large factory in a small town.  Some of those workers, particularly the engravers, had skills which had become less fashionable.  Lindstrand created designs which sold and which used all the skills of the highly trained workforce.

Another example of a Lindstrand layered story in engraved glass is at:
