Signed pair of 1965 Kaj Franck Nuutajarvi Notsjo goblet vases
Some months after listing these I found that Pina and Vigier value them at $400-$500 each in their book, Scandinavian Glass 1930-2000: Fire & Sea. :-/ However, the price I listed them at stands.
This is an elegant pair of vases by one of the of the 20th century's great designers. This style is emblematic of the era. The design is Goblet KF 245. It was designed in 1957 and made until 1969 in 6 colours.
Other makers made variations on the theme of undulating stems, for example, Holmegaard with its Carnaby series. Another piece with a similar idea on our site is http://www.modernistglass.com/glasspieces/view/1814 , a bamboo vase by Bo Borgstrom for Aseda.
