Signed 1950s Vicke Lindstrand 'LC2' 'Colora' vase for Kosta

I think this one, in brown fading to greenish brown at the top, with ruby red stripes, is the pick of the Colora vase designs, but the colours and stripes are subtle so you'll need to enlarge the pictures to see what I mean.  The Colora series was shown in the 1955/56 Kosta catalogue, and was special enough to get a numbering sequence all of its own - LC1-LC9. Lindstrand clearly thought this was one of his best efforts.

And indeed, it was a great success for Kosta. Look at the elegance of the shape of this vase, the grace of the neck and the fact that it's carefully designed to be longer than it is wide, and the subtle stripes. It's not the easiest piece to show off in photos on the internet, but it's special.  Compare it with Signed Vicke Lindstrand 1950s pinstriped vase for Kosta, a lovely vase in itself, but not in the same league in terms of its shape.

Some of the Colora range had a separate applied foot, which I find less pleasing than this style, with a heavy solid crystal base.

Condition: very light wear to the base aside from a 0.5mm fleabite, a few small scuffs and scratches (longest 3mm)
