Signed Stromberg 1960s sommerso vase with mass of bubbles
Swedish glassmaker, Strombergshyttan, in the 1950s and 60s specialised in particularly fine, clear crystal with an ice blue tint, and sommerso pieces. We make a point of seeking out their sommerso vases, and we've sold a lot of them, but this is a variation we haven't seen before. The white sommerso layer is surrounded by a layer of random bubbles, all encased in a pool of clear crystal.
See our other Stromberg listings, including past sales.
