FM Ronneby gold dolphin sculpture with bubbles

Whales from FM Konstglas of Ronneby, Sweden, have proven popular; let's see what people think of their take on a leaping dolphin. It's not just an ordinary dolphin! Not satisfied with the dramatic pose, the Marcolin brothers' Murano-trained glassblowers have added controlled bubbles and a layer of gold.

This piece is unsigned but the last image is a scan of a page from a 1986 FM Ronneby catalogue which shows simpler versions of various sea creatures - whales, a shark, and a dolphin - some of them on the same design of base. My assumption is that this one is an earlier version.

The second photo shows the gold against a black background and gives the best indication of how it will display under artificial light. Gold was of course expensive, and so was used only on the most valuable pieces. It's only used on two pieces in the 48 page 1986 catalogue.
