Set of signed 1947 Iittala Kaj Franck bowls with sodium bubbles

The smaller of these is model number 3256, as shown in Iittala: 150 Years of Finnish Glass, Marianne Aav (ed.), p253. It was designed in 1947 and made until 1954. The larger bowl is clearly a variation. A number of other variations are shown in the book.

Franck is one of the great designers of the 20th century. His numerous awards include the Lunning Prize in 1955.

Condition: expected wear to the base, a few less than 0.5mm black scufflike marks from manufacture to the outer rim, a few small scratches to the exterior (longest 3mm)
