1950s sommerso vase
Here's a fourth tall, thin vase. We attribute this to Sea Glasbruk, the Kosta-based firm, however, it's unsigned and bears no label. It could well be from one of the other smaller Swedish firms. The quality is good and the design is clever. It reminds me of a particularly stylish beaker of potassium permanganate and we suspect the designer probably did a chemistry class or two. The make up and colour of glass is of course dependent on the chemistry skills within the business. In fact, the production of this colour may well involve potassium permanganate.
