Labelled Arte Nuova Murano 1958 lamp

Arte Nuova was a Murano firm which operated from 1954 to about 1965. The label suggests that this piece won the grand prize at the 1958 Brussels World Fair. I suspect that something from the firm won that prize and that every piece after that got the sticker skiting about it.

Be that as it may, this is a nice lamp, with sleek, modern lines. As I said in the listing of the Flygsfors lamp I've just listed, I suspected that this design was more likely to be 1960s, and the Flygsfors version perhaps earlier in the 1950s. Both are bold and bright, and about 50 years old, which makes them special and collectable.

Condition: light wear to the base, a handful of fleabites around the wiring (largest 3mm), a couple of unintended bubbles (largest 0.5mm), a less than 0.5mm mark from manufacture to the front (a few cm above the base), a 1x7mm unpolished mark from manufacture just above the base
