Mona Morales Schilt vase with cut lenses for Kosta
This is a vase of some substance, at more than 2kg. It's hard to capture its essence in a photo; there are a lot more cut disks than show in the pictures. It's signed Kosta and we've seen the same design signed with the designer's name, though it's not a common piece.
It's clearly a variation on the coloured and cut vases that Morales Schildt is famous for (see for example http://www.modernistglass.com/glasspieces/view/2904). She worked at Kosta from 1958 to 1970. This is a 1960s piece.
Morales Schildt is a designer whose work we think will continue to appreciate; it's still undervalued. For more of her designs, see http://www.modernistglass.com/glasspieces/designer/Morales-Schildt%2C+Mona
